According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), employment of interpreters and translators is expected to increase by 46%, much faster than the average for all occupations between 2012 and 2022 (www.bls.gov). The BLS also expects that interpreter and translator jobs should be plentiful in health care. A May 2014 BLS report of average wages for interpreters and translators showed that they earned $49,320 per year.
